What this blog is *about*

I have decided to create this virtual space as a playground wherein to explore my *lipstick fetish*. This is a place of freedom, honesty and playfulness. Surviving girly stuff...

I spent two whole hours yesterday afternoon waxing just about every hair from my body .
Every single one of those 120 minutes *hurt*, some more than others...
So I thought I’d kiss it better… ;-)

And you *better* believe those kisses go further than you can see…

P.S. 6 different colours were used for the kisses, each and every kiss was another 5 very generous, very slow applications. I exceeded that limit on a couple of occasions of course ;-)
The colours used were: Rimmel- Atomic, Temptation and Chiffon (all three of these are regularly *played with* favourites)
Elizabeth Arden- Velvet Lilac and Beauty
Paris- Black
Maybelline- Royal Red (I get annoyed with the watermelon-ish smell of Maybelline lipsticks, I like my lipstick to smell like lipstick…purrrr. However…this particular stick feels *sublime* to slick on… Though that’s part of the trade really…)
The same lipstick from the very first body painting session, the “Undercover Pics” post, was the one leisurely used to slick on the climbing vine.

Someone give me a hug! :-)

I am currently The Happiest Girl In The Whole Wide World…
My budget took the happiest knock it ever has the other day…on the acquisition of a luscious tube of L’Oreal’s “Invincible Kiss Proof” lipstick. Meow.
Meowowow.
Unlike that travesty called vinyl paint, this creamy colour feels lipstickingly sexy to adorn one’s lips with. And if you’re a very good girl (who’s literate) and pay attention to the application instructions on the box…this lipstick really, really, really, *really* sticks.
There are numerous perks to this I can enjoy…
Although I find a delectable kiss mark an absolutely juicy experience to behold, unintentional lip marks (on my part) on the glass of wine I’m sipping from or the cigarettes I’m smoking don’t have quite the same effect…and it means that that colour that I’m loving catching the sight of gleaming from my lips is starting to dull and fade. *Sigh*.
The photos at the end of this post were taken after a Girl’s Night Out at around 3am, the last cigarette before taking myself to bed. Observe the tip of that cigarette… ain’t no way that would be going on with my usual lipsticks. And quite frankly, it makes me bouncy, yay!

Also, another perk of this I-love-your-lips-and-I’m-sticking-to-them lipstick would be that certain someones may avoid telling smears the two of you have overlooked owing to being in a trance of endorphins and oxytocin whilst…I don’t know, say going to pick up takeaways because you got carried away and missed the grocery store for dinner requirements. Not that I minded at all when I eventually noticed…

So gentlemen, do the right thing and bring back your vixen a tube of L’Oreal’s “Invincible Kiss Proof” lipstick…ASAP.

Different *strokes* for different folks continued...

Maybe you just want to see as much lipstick as possible bedecking the body…

And here’s a new one!
Maybe you’re up for letting time melt away *playing* with saccharine-based lipstick… Edible lipstick people! And it tastes great! And the prints stick like crazy, *purr*, as long as they don’t get wet. Wow, I’m one happy lady :-) Some one is in so much trouble…

Different *strokes* for different folks

Different *strokes* for different folks: What does it mean to have a *lipstick fetish*

One of the privileges of living in a small town whose population is predominated by tertiary students from different corners of the country, indeed, even different corners of the world, is the general open-mindedness I am surrounded in. It means I can start an intelligent and meaningful conversation with 85% of the people I come across…about abso-bloody-lutely anything.

And yet, I don’t have the balls to talk about my lipstick fetish to my very closest of friends. I have a friend who confessed to me that she actually prefers anal to standard sex…but I wouldn’t broach the subject with her. I have another with whom I have regular, open discussions with about self-pleasuring…I wouldn’t tell her either. The girl I invented a game with once upon a time…forget it.
I also have a whole host of guy friends who know perfectly well I go digging into their hidden porn folders on their pcs when they’re not looking, so they know I know their perks, everything from the more softcore side of the spectrum… to the most obscure of hardcore, for godsake I know what the term “felching” means. And you bet your ass I wouldn’t broach the subject with them either.

At this site, it’s all too easy to discuss the matter…because we’re all on the same side of the voting roll. In the back of my head there’s a voice that says this is not even a debatable subject: a lipstick fetish is just, so absurdly-obviously The Sexiest Fetish a human being could have.
So it’s been a covert mission of the highest order to ascertain the opinion of people not so inclined (who seem, by definition, to get more or less acutely squeamish about it) in order to temper my knowledge of the subject… to be able to regard it without the usual feverish bliss that can cloud my vision... or the delicious input from Wet Your Lips *Here*’s gracious readership ;-)
How I managed this was to start off a broad conversation with various groups on sexual fetishes in general. Hardly had to break a sweat getting that right. From there it’s not even nearly that perilous a step to asking for people’s opinions/knowledge of more obscure/bizarre forms of fetish they know of…though 9 times out of 10 I ended up being the one who had to bring up lipstick fetishism, the majority of people simply don’t know it exists.
It’s not even on Wikipedia’s pretty damn extensive list of fetishes. Can you believe it?
And, a further 9 times out of 10, the reaction from the group, at its mention, is distaste. The leftovers simply squint at you and go “I just don’t get it”. Ironically, I knew for a fact one of the people who gave this last sort of response has a bulging folder of porn on their pc packing primarily bestiality and the most masochistic cum fests you’ve ever seen (the kind where the girls don’t look like they’re having any fun).
Yeah, the feeling’s mutual dude.

So now The Big Question is why? Why do some cringe, whereas others *cream* themselves? Do the two different reactions stem from the same fundamental cause?
It’s a tricky one folks. I think, judging from the various input that has either been happily offered or exasperatingly hunted down, that it may be tangled in the notion of different reactions to pornography…and the acceptance of the feminine.
Those who are disassociated with the feminine get stuck in viewing the female body as a sex object, this is, essentially making the whole body (which encompasses an individual identity) a fetish object. And then there’s those of us that accept and admire feminine sexuality, who allow the girls we view their right to be enjoying that part of themselves that they have, for whatever reason, decided to share with the world.
Any form of fetishism must, by definition, always come back to the original fetish object. We have fetishized lipstick because our subconscious recognizes we can’t respond to another human being as if they were an object.
It’s my hypothesis, but I feel it is an informed one. I’ve argued with an obliging senior psychology lecturer on the matter over coffee for three days flat.

So Ms Likes-To-Cover-Her-Body-In-Lipstick Lady, does the body not become objectified when in contact/adorned with the mark of the sexual fetish?
Fuck no. It’s a cogent statement to make, certainly, but by mere virtue of the fact that the sexual body is being adorned…it qualifies as a celebration of, a tribute to feminine sexuality. It’s gone beyond the realm of acceptance to the state of worship, so to speak.
And I think we should all have the *freedom* (god, I love that word) to pay tribute to whatsoever entities we deem divine that we choose. Mine range from Life to Bast (a sacred pussy! ;-) ) to Saraswati to my body to my mug (that nurtures and fuels me continuously whilst I absorb information, process it, and refine it in my retelling). I’m a strange little girl. But I have the right to the freedom to be a strange little girl.

But we’re not out of the woods yet… The fact remains that we who love lipstick are still citizens of human society. A society which categorically states, at this point in time, that fetishism bares the brand of an ICD-10 classification. This means the shrink you speak to about your love of lipstick will describe you as a patient suffering from acute perversion. That needs to change, obviously. But how do we tide ourselves over till then?

I will be covering this in my next post. To tide you over till then, here’s a fairly extensive photo-gallery record of the various manifestations of lipstick fetish…
There has been some contestation as regards body painting qualifying as part of the fetish… Please believe me when I say: abso-fucking-lutely! As long as it comes back to the tube of lipstick, whatever form of play it is, it counts.
As an artist, one who’s been roped into other students’ bizarre projects, allow me to vouch for the fact that getting painted all over simply does not come anywhere near the sublime sensation of having lipstick slicked over your skin. The latter is merely an act of décor whereas the latter actually becomes a sexual act. A rather delicious one at that ;-)
Go paint your girlfriends or yourselves after enjoying the photos… (12 in total, last two on the post below this one...&*%$#@! Well above this one then...)

Some prefer paler shades…

Others darker…Sometimes we’re specifically interested in very specific colours, like blue…

Or cutesy teen pinks…

Or even simply a generous amount of gloopy gloss…

Catching the sight of prints on flesh might *do* it for you…

Most of us can watch a juicy application (or spend our time doing them ;-) ) for hours on end…

Seeing a slicked, colourful nipple might make you sweat…

Or a thoroughly coated pussy might make you lick your *lips*…

Teaser

Tori Amos once said, in an interview with Q music magazine in 1998,
"How can I be a sacred being...and a hot pussy?"

Good question Tori...
I'm going to leave you to chew on the necessity and importance of asking such a question till I get back to you with some more substantial meditations...

By the by, there's been a lot of research and conversation going on behind the scenes here at Wet Your Lips *Here* regarding a particularly loaded post on what it means to have a *penchant* for lipstick for different people. I'm especially concerned with the difficulties we face and possible solutions. All guests to my little lipstick playground are invited to share their experiences and concerns with your Lady Lipstick via email for this post at: wetyourlipshere@yahoo.com -you are welcome to remain anonymous or to be credited for your input.
Now excuse me while I go pout and ponder (and then *play*, of course) some more...

I could do this aaaaaaaall night...

Finally…some of the long-awaited application photos. This is one of the inexhaustible *joys* of having a lipstick fetish…

P.S. Girls, you know you have a lipstick fetish when…
a) You’re randomly playing with your bellybutton and suddenly notice there’s a load of creamy colour under your fingernail
b) You’re doing your laundry and notice every single item of underwear is stained in various, pretty colours

All of which happened to Yours Truly yesterday…Case closed.

Good Old-fashioned Wanton Self Indulgence

I know most of the content at Wet Your Lips *Here* for the past two months has been on the text-heavy side, I have some very serious gratitude to a few of you for your fantastic responses, and you can rest assured they will be dealt with right *here*...

For now though, as this post declares, it's time for some good old-fashioned, wanton self indulgence ;-)
Leopards and tigers and pussies, oh my!

"We should have each other to tea…
We should have each other with cream
Then curl up by the fire
And sleep for awhile
It's the grooviest thing
It's the perfect dream" - "Lovecats", The Cure

Serendipity

If I had, indeed, designed this site to meet someone else’s desires, to tweak a truth here and liven up a lie there, to highlight this and shadow that for the sake of becoming a living fantasy…if this were the case allow me to assure you, dear readership of “Wet your lips *here*, that you would not be seeing this post…

Your Lady Lipstick really is just another human being out there, traversing this crazy planet from day to day, trying to get by and enjoy the ride to the best of my abilities.
I can look like crap in the morning too, fussed-up hair, smudged eyeliner, worn and smeared lipstick, puffy-eyed and grumpy… Shuffling around the house in clothes that don’t always make me feel or look particularly sexy.
And, like you, I can also have my bad days.
Bad weeks in this case…

But have no fear, I’m not going launch into a tour d’force about my workload or the people I’m currently disgusted with, rather, I’m going to show you the result of my efforts to bring myself back to peace with the world, or society I should rather say…
And me.

So there I was, feeling utterly out of joint and wracking my mind for an answer as to why people can be so awful to each other, when I got to thinking about some old psychological theory…
I ask you to bear with me, put aside impatience for but a moment and follow this train of thought, oh, and do enjoy the photos along the way…

Right, according to Freud every one of us “splits our ego” (that is to say our understanding of our Self as a separate, unique identity) at what is called “The Mirror Phase” of our phsychological development as children. We need to divide our identity in order to be able to know it, to be able to investigate the various aspects of it as we would our reflections in the bathroom mirror.

(The sun and the moon/light and darkness)

This leads to a couple of problems Jacques Lacan investigates in his theory of “The Other”. This theory stipulates that the dividing of the ego, in an attempt to make the notion of identity a stable,

boundaried entity, leads us to demonize or exoticize (“put on a pedestal” if you will) the parts our Self we have split, which we project onto other people around us. This is supposed to be the core reason why some people succumb to racism, why others romanticize the idea of life amongst tribes untouched by modern life, why some women unmitigatingly despise men, why some men become slaves to the female form…

In Lacan’s theory, we’re all driven by fear, even our desires stem from it: fear of loss.
Well I think that’s crap. Fear that is.
It makes us do stupid things to one another, sometimes directly to a specific other, and sometimes that other just gets the bruises of being in the way of someone’s blindly self-centred mission.

(Male and female/masculinity and feminity)
I really think the human race would be a happier one if we could just acknowledge these partitions we carry in our identity, let them kiss and make-up, and allow them to comfortably co-exist in our Selves. Like two sides to the same coin. The coin is a singular entity, but, yes, it always lands one side up (the dominant side of the divided aspect) and that’s okay.

So, to do this for myself, I thought I’d conduct a marriage ceremony in lipstick on my body. I guess this shoot qualifies more as art than erotica, but, with all due sincerity, I enjoyed it as much as any other shoot on this blog. Not only did it help me feel better but, hey, this “my body is my temple” jazz sure helps me feel sublimely sexy when I’m down. Cheers to that.
(0 and 1/being and non-being/subjectivity and objectivity)
“I’d give my heart and soul to know why

we spend all of our lives
going out of our minds,
looking back to our birth,
forward to our demise.
Even scientists say
everything is just light,
not created, destroyed,
but eternally bright.
Masters in every time,
lord in every place,
those who stood up for love
in spite of the hate” –Live, “They Stood Up For Love”

And when we put aside our fear, and “stand up for love”…
We achieve…
